Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Coach Marco holds a US ‘C’ soccer coaching license and has over 6 years of experience in youth soccer development across Southern California. During this time, he has gained experience developing all levels of players, from grassroots to elite, being employed in various organizations such as LA Galaxy, LAFC, Cal Miramar University, and Manchester City Soccer Academy at Sofive. In his current position as Executive Director, Marco has developed and managed programs at Ascend.
Marco started playing soccer at an early age. His hard work and determination paid off earning him a scholarship to attend an all boys private school in Boyle Heights called Salesian High School helping them win a CIF and State Championship in 2009 & 2010. His experience playing at the community college level for East Los Angeles College and at the Division 2 level for Holy Names University not to mention stints at the pro and semi-pro level has earned him the experience necessary to spearhead Ascend FC programs. Coach Marco, currently holds a (BA) in Sport Psychology.
